I don't read a lot of company biographies, but I couldn't put down The Pixar Touch. Very well researched and experted crafted story of the makers of several of my favorite films. As someone that was into programming and graphics very early by most standards, on the 1981 Tandy TRS-80 and 1985 Commodore-64, it was interesting to see how innovative the geeks of the 1960s and 1970s were in inventing techniques like texture mapping. More than 40 years later, we use many of these methods in my iPhone game company, reallyMedia, using software called Unity3D. It was also fascinating to see how one eccentric millionaire from New York assembled the world's best talent and best gear to start a design school that spawned Pixar. Recommended for those interested in animation, digital media, special effects, and filmmaking. Find it on Amazon Kindle. Or Apple iBooks. Or even in a store.
